THE LUCKY 13!
What is something new you have learned about creativity by observing children?
They are completely real. Genuine. They know who they are without being told. They don't contemplate on what to do, how to do or if they should do. They are, unapologetically and gorgeously free.
*In Mad Hatter terms* In a time when you lost your "much-iness,” what did you do to get your much muchier back?
My "much-iness" is sacred in many ways. It's my essence, my soul, the sparkling part of my being. When I seem to have lost this, I remind myself, it's never ever lost. I just have to remind myself of the whereabouts of the key, and then I find the holy grail of my much-iness.
How does a regular creative practice infuse other parts of your life?
Creating daily as I do has inspired me on ways I normally would not find joy in. I suddenly have more patience to do other things. I find myself at peace. I discover a kindness and I release the irritable sides of my heartQ. I also look to everything as a creative act, from my writing to cleaning the house. When everything is seen as something creative in some way, my life suddenly makes sense and chaos is tamed.
Do you practice any moon rituals? If so, please share.
Blessings of the moon are always evident and all around me. Right now, I have found myself on a track of ritual goals when the moon is involved. I have such high respect for her, and everything she brings. I used to do a lot of formalized rituals, but found i burned out quickly. So, while I do honor her and offer blessings, I still have goals of finding my special rituals to bring into my spiritual and creative homes.
What truth do you whisper to yourself just before you go to sleep?
"With all I know, with all I am, I know I've done right by this day. I trust life and all that happens as understanding that this is just the way it went down, whatever way it may have been."
What do you consider to be home and how do you get there?
For so very long, the mere mention of the word home would send me into a tailspin of fear, longing and yearning. As life has increasingly been working alongside me, I've found the most wonderful home -- my very spirit. When I've found myself lost, swallowed by the waves and aimless, my spirit was always close. The little tap tap tap telling me what was right for me and the realization that I could trust and respect my spirit and then the best feeling is born: I am home - within me, through me, over me and in front of me, my spirit whispers welcome home.
Is there a ritual you use to invoke your creative Muse?
My creative side is awakened in many ways: the right song at the right time, the movies or television shows I watch or reading the awesomeness of a favorite author. Images of all kinds can inspire, the sparkling night sky can remind and the water can give a boost, setting my soul on fire.
Name an artist that is currently inspiring you and share why.
There are two right now: Hillary Rain and Tanya Markul. The reason? Such pure, raw, soul-stirring honesty in every word. Finding myself in between the letters gives me the inspiring push I need to move forward in every way.
Tell us about something beautiful you saw this week.
The gorgeousness of true love in the adoration of those closest to me showing me in different ways that I am loved and honored. And those treasures are beautiful.
Write us the opening lines to your next week.
"Previously speaking....." A good quick summary would be perfect to remind myself of what is ahead based on the steps of the time gone by.
What color means something to you currently and why?
Shades of pinks and reds have always been my favorite as the symbolism of love, compassion and a softness is ushered in when I see them.
Do you collect anything?
Pictures of all kinds. Family, favorite actresses, quotes, and images of my favorite writers and artists.
What’s the last great book you read?
I'm in deep love with Sera Beak, and have been for years and years. "The Red Book" and "Red Hot and Holy" have caused shifts in my life I once did not know could happen.
