Spiritual Wanderings by Mandy Steward
In December of 2010 I wrote a blog post entitled I’m Tired of Being a Christian. I was overwhelmed with the magnitude of traffic to this post, and so it is how I begin this eBook on Spiritual Wanderings. It just seems appropriate. If you would like a sneak-peek of this eBook, you can read this post in its entirety HERE.
From October 2010 to October 1, 2013 (my official release date with David C. Cook Publishing) I worked on creating a book entitled Thrashing About With God – Finding Faith on the Other Side of Everything. During that time I additionally blogged sporadically about the searchings and wanderings of my Christian faith. This 51 page eBook entitled Spiritual Wanderings is a collection of my best 26 blog posts written on this topic over the course of those three years. It coincides with the topics in #ThatThrashingBook, though does not duplicate them. (Topics such as church, Bible reading, God, Jesus, prayer, darkness, hope, answers, etc.)
As I was curating these writings of mine, sometimes I wanted to edit bits out because I have changed so much, but I knew to honor me and my truth everything had to stay as is. #IAmThrashing
As space permitted in the layout of the book I included soul-prompts along the way, perfect for art journaling, journaling or just pondering. Additionally there are several self-portraits charting the journey, as well as art and colorful and creative photography from the original blog posts.
I know that I will never write quite like this again. I feel like this eBook is breadcrumbs I’ve thrown on my way through. I was encouraged by my friend Hillary Rain to gather these precious posts in an anthology, and it’s been a truly powerful process to do so. I am glad I can vulnerably share them with you all in one complete piece. Save for the I'm Tired of Being a Christian post, these writings are no longer accessible from my blog archives.
The eBook is designed 11 x 8.5 landscape view. It is in PDF format. It is not specifically formatted for a Kindle or eReader device. This is a learning curve I have not yet personally taken on, so I apologize in advance for this inconvenience. However, if your reading device can read a standard PDF, you should have no problem viewing it.
Upon purchase you will be emailed a link to download the eBook. Should you have any problems, you can email me directly, firstname.lastname@example.org and I will be happy to assist you.
This was a terrifying and wonderful season of my life. A real turning point in my road. If you are here, I am excited for you as you take trembly yet determined steps towards your own spiritual thrashings and wanderings and whispers. I feel the reverberations deeply.
